    Description

Acnesol Gel 1% is a topical (applied on the skin) antibiotic drug that fights bacterial growth on the skin. It has the active ingredient clindamycin phosphate, which is prescribed for the treatment of severe acne. The medicine helps heal pimples by reducing skin inflammation and swelling. Clindamycin effectively decreases the formation of blackheads and helps to renew skin cells faster. The topical antibiotic reduces the number of bacteria that cause acne. The anti-inflammatory of the active ingredient makes pimples less swollen and reduces the redness. The treatment may take 4 to 6 weeks after starting the medicine.

    Side Effects

All acne medications, including Acnesol gel 0.1%, can cause side effects. Fortunately, the side effects of topical clindamycin are not usually serious. The commonly reported complications associated with Clindamycin include dryness, minor peeling of the skin, or flakiness. The gel formulation may cause a stinging sensation when you apply it to the affected area, and you might get some mild skin irritation. Topical medication may rarely cause serious side effects. Most people tolerate this topical medicine fairly well but do tell your dermatologist if any of these adverse reactions make you uncomfortable or persist for a longer duration. Painful burning, severe redness, and cracking of the skin should all be brought to your dermatologist’s attention. Although these side effects are very, do tell your health care specialist if you get diarrhoea, a severe headache, bloody stool, or stomach cramps.
