Description
Asthalin Respules 2.5 ml is used in the routine management of chronic bronchospasm unresponsive to conventional therapy. It contains the active ingredient Salbutamol, a class of medicines known as bronchodilators that opens up the air passages in your lungs to breathe more easily. Asthalin Respules make breathing easier in patients with breathing problems/ It is also effective in treating severe asthma attacks.
Product Description
Asthalin Respules is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components in this medicine. In patients with severe or unstable asthma, bronchodilators should not be the main treatment. Regular assessment of lung function is required as there is an increased risk of severe attacks and even death. Oral/inhaled corticosteroids should be considered. Frequent use of bronchodilators to relieve symptoms.
Asthalin Respules must only be used for inhalation, inhaled through the mouth via a nebulizer, and not be injected or swallowed. In patients with severe or unstable asthma, bronchodilators to relieve symptoms indicated deterioration of asthma control.
In the following conditions, Salbutamol should be used with caution and if strictly indicated:
- Hyperthyroidism
- Aneurysm
- Diabetes which is difficult to control

Regular asthma self-assessment following instructions regarding using Asthalin Respules and any other medications needed for asthma management is important.
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicine as they might interact with salbutamol Respules. Tell your doctor of the medications:
- Medicines called xanthines, such as theophylline
- Steroids such as prednisolone
- Digoxin, which is used in the treatment of heart failure
- Tricyclic antidepressants for depression
- Medicines called beta-blockers
- Ipratropium bromide for asthma

Side Effects
Common side effects of Asthalin Respules include dizziness, headache, sweating, restlessness, hives, itching, redness of the skin, rash, nausea, mouth and throat irritation, tremor, burning sensation of the tongue, and taste alterations.
Sometimes Asthalin Respules can cause a lowering of potassium levels in the blood, which can make you generally feel unwell. Some patients may also experience frequent urination. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor, who may conduct a blood test.
How to Use
Asthalin Respules are for oral inhalation use only, to be inhaled through the mouth via a nebulizer, as instructed by the doctor. The preparation should not be injected or swallowed. The Respules are intended to be used undiluted. However, if prolonged delivery time is required, the formulation may be diluted with sterile normal saline.
Adults –
The recommended dose is 2.5 to 5 mg salbutamol up to four times daily.
Children (four years and above) –
The recommended dose is 2.5 to 5 mg up to four times daily.
Infants (under 18 months old)
The clinical effectiveness of nebulized Salbutamol in infants under 18 months is uncertain. As transient hypoxia may occur, supplemental oxygen therapy should be considered.
