Description
Cabgolin has Cabergoline, which belongs to a class of medications known as prolactin inhibitors. It prevents lactation (production of breast milk) by causing a significant reduction in the levels of a hormone known as prolactin. Doctors majorly recommend this medicine in cases of miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion. Your doctor may also prescribe a Cabergoline tablet to reduce abnormal quantities of the hormone prolactin in the bloodstream.

Stop taking medicine and inform your doctor if you are allergic to the main ingredient or any other drug ingredient. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant, or breastfeeding your baby. It is advisable to monitor your heart function when the treatment is on regularly. The medicine may cause dizziness and fainting. Hence, it is advisable not to do activities requiring high alertness, such as driving, operating heavy machinery, etc. Use the medicine only for the purpose mentioned and not for any other purpose. Do not share the medicine with anyone, even if the person suffers from the same symptoms. In case of any abnormal activity, such as an abnormally high sex drive, too much eating or spending, an increase in sexual thoughts, and so on, then you must inform your doctor right away. How to Use
Take Cabgolin tablets with food to reduce side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. Your doctor will determine the dose for you. You can break the tablet into two halves if you cannot swallow it. Once you start breastfeeding, you should take a 0.25 mg dose every twelve hours for two days to stop milk production. To reduce prolactin levels in other conditions, usually, the treatment is started with two separate doses. Your doctor may increase your dose, preferably by adding some Cabgolin every week at monthly intervals until an optimal therapeutic response is obtained. Your doctor will tell you how much medicine you need to treat your condition. The tablets should be used cautiously in patients with renal and hepatic impairment. Cabergoline should not be given to patients under 16 years of age.
