    Description

Crestor 10 mg contains Rosuvastatin, which belongs to a class of cholesterol-lowering medicines known as statins. When used in combination with diet, Crestor reduces bad cholesterol (LDL-C), increases good cholesterol (HDL-C). Increased levels of bad cholesterol cause the buildup of fatty deposition called plaque along the walls of the blood vessels. Over the period, this plaque buildup ultimately causes narrowing of these vessels, one of the major causes of heart disease. Rosuvastatin lowers bad cholesterol in your bloodstream by slowing this plaque buildup in the walls of blood vessels. The cholesterol-lowering drug has been proven to reduce the risk of heart complications, including heart attacks and strokes in older adults without known heart disease. Cholesterol is made in the liver. Crestor blocks the activity of an enzyme responsible for causing the liver to make less cholesterol. Also, this medicine is known to increase the uptake and breakdown by the liver of cholesterol already in the bloodstream.

    Product Description

You should not breastfeed while receiving Rosuvastatin as it can pass into your breast milk and may harm your baby.  Avoid taking the medication if you have liver problems or have had an allergic reaction to Rosuvastatin. The active ingredient of the medicine is Rosuvastatin calcium. If you have any doubt, speak to your doctor. The safety and effectiveness of this cholesterol-lowering drug have not been established in children under the age of ten. • Muscle problems: Inform your doctor right away if you develop unexplained muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness accompanied by fever. This could be an early indication of a rare muscle problem that could lead to serious kidney diseases. The risk of muscle associated complications is more common in elderly patients 65 years of age or older or who already suffered from thyroid or kidney problems. The risk of getting a muscle problem increases if you take other medicines while taking Rosuvastatin.
