Description
Dabigo 75 mg contains the active ingredient Dabigatran, the first new oral anticoagulant to be approved to prevent stroke in people with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (A specific type of irregular heart rhythm). Treatment should be continued life-long. In case of intolerability, patients are instructed to contact their doctors.
Product Description
Concomitant use of Dabigatran 75mg with rifampicin may reduce the effectiveness of this anticoagulant drug. Dabigo 75 mg should not be given to people with bleeding and serious hypersensitivity reaction. The use of Dabigatran may cause serious and fatal bleeding. Do not take the anticoagulant medicine if you have ever had or plan to have a valve in your heart replaced. Before you take medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, bleeding issues, stomach ulcers, or other medical conditions. Also, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. This is because Dabigatran may harm your unborn baby. It is unknown if the anticoagulant medicine may pass into your breast milk. Let your dentist know that you are taking Dabigo capsules as it is not recommended to take Dabigatran during a dental procedure.
Side Effects
Dabigo 75 mg can be associated with dyspepsia. Taking the anticoagulant medicine with food often helps to diminish the condition. Bleeding is the most common side effect of Dabigatran capsules. Some people may also experience gastritis like symptoms.
How to Use
The usual dose of Dabigo is 75 mg twice daily. The dose may vary from one patient to another. Take the anticoagulant drug as prescribed by your doctor. You may be asked to take medicine with or without food. When it’s time to take a dose of Dabigatran, only remove your prescribed dose of the medicine from the blistering black. The medicine is available in the form of a capsule that needs to be swallowed whole with a glass full of water. Do not break the capsule or empty the pellets from the capsule. Your doctor will decide how long you should take Dabigatran capsules.
