Duolin is a dual drug combination with Ipratropium Bromide and Levosalbutamol Sulphate. It is a potent synthetic Glucocorticoid which exerts anti-inflammatory properties. Rotacaps are one of the most preferred dosage forms of medicine for asthma patients. This dosage form renders targeted drug delivery at the site of action. It is also known as “Puffers”. It is a small handy device with having canister and a curved mouthpiece. This drug is mixed with a propellant.

The dual drug combination effectively produces a hassle-free breathing process. It collectively relaxes the muscles and increases the airflow to the lungs.

Ipratropium Bromide – Blocks the release of acetylcholine at the junctions of the lungs. This all causes relaxation of the smooth muscles and clears the airways. Duolin prevents Asthma attacks and is not effective in emergency asthma conditions.

Levosalbutamol Sulphate – It is a rapid-acting beta receptor agonist as it stimulates them and causes smooth muscle relaxation. Its main goal is to stop the production of inflammatory chemicals that constantly blocks the airways and hinders smooth breathing activities. This ingredient helps relax the constricted bronchioles and prevents unwanted symptoms like wheezing, coughing and choking.

Rotacaps dosage form renders the following benefits:

More amount of drug reaches the lungs

          Work efficiently

User-friendly and can be taken by patients of all age groups

    How to Use

Duolin Rotacaps 100 mg 40 mg is indicated for treating and preventing Bronchospasm associated with reversible COPD, chronic bronchitis and emphysema. These ingredients in the drug are released on the Muscarinic and beta2-adrenergic receptors in the lungs. This all leads to the dilation of the narrowed bronchioles.

Generally, one to four doses are taken each day by the patient. The doctor prescribes the best dose intake depending on the severity and demand of the disease condition. Always follow doctor’s instructions. Doses can vary widely and are required to be taken regularly.

Do not swallow Rotacaps. This is intended to be taken by inhalation only, using your Rotahaler. Rinse your mouth after use as it helps avoid throat irritation and dry mouth-like conditions. Open the Rota haler capsule by holding it in a horizontal position, keeping the white spot up and lighter colored end in the opposite direction. Then gently breathe out and seal your lips around the mouthpiece. Take a full, deep breath in your mouth and hold your breath for up to ten seconds. Afterwards, take a normal breath and throw away the empty capsule shell. Before using it, see the instructions mentioned in the leaflet. Always talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist to ensure that you are taking medicine correctly as prescribed by the doctor. If there is no improvement in the symptoms, talk to a doctor.

Take medicine for the time doctor advises; abrupt discontinuation can produce unwanted reactions. This drug is meant to be taken regularly, so keep on taking the drug as long as recommended by the doctor.
