Description
Duvadilan Retard 40 mg contains Isoxsuprine, a vasodilator drug (blood vessel relaxing agent) used for the treatment and prevention of certain conditions such as cerebral vascular insufficiency (poor blood circulation to the brain), Raynaud’s phenomenon (numb and cold sensation due to blocked nerves of hand), buerger’s disease (blood clots in arms and legs), arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries) and other conditions involving poor blood flow in the blood vessel (arteries and veins).
Besides this, it is also effective in relaxing uterine muscles during premature labour (when the uterus begins to contract for birth earlier than usual). Isoxsuprine cause the widening of the blood vessels and muscles, thereby improving blood circulation to the muscles and blocking nerves, delaying contraction during premature labour pains, and poor blood circulation to body organs.

Duvadilan retards 40 mg should not be stopped abruptly without talking to the doctor, as the kit may lead to unwanted side effects. Tell your doctor if you have any bleeding diseases or heart problems before initiating treatment with this vasodilator drug. Avoid doing strenuous activities during premature labour.
The capsules should not be given to people who are allergic to Isoxsuprine, have low blood pressure, or have a bleeding problem. The vasodilator drug may interact with some medicines, so it should be used with caution when used with certain antibiotics(rifampicin, erythromycin, and clarithromycin), anti-hypertensives (simvastatin, lovastatin, diltiazem, atorvastatin), anti-migraine (dihydroergotamine, ergotamine), sedatives, antidepressants (lithium and fluoxetine), medicines to lower blood pressure, antiparkinson’s drugs (pramipexole, levodopa, ropinirole), and antiepileptic agents (carbamazepine, rifampicin, phenobarbital, and phenytoin).
Duvadilan retards should be used with caution in people with low blood pressure, a bleeding problem, especially arterial bleeding, have any heart problems. Studies suggest that it is safe and does not harm the baby. Drive with caution, as the vasodilator drug may cause blurry vision and dizziness may occur.
Side Effects
Dizziness is the most common side effect associated with the use of Duvadilan retards capsules. If this bothers you or appears serious, inform your doctor. To reduce the chance of dizziness, you must stand slowly if getting up from a sitting or a lying position or avoid driving or activities that requires complete attention.
How to Use
Swallow the capsule whole with water without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. The capsules can be taken before or after consuming food. The doctor will decide the dose and duration, depending on the cause you prescribed to take it for.
