Description
Foracort Rotacps 200 mcg 6 mcg is prescribed for the long-term, twice-a-day maintenance treatment of asthma in patients twelve years of age. One of the active ingredients of Foracort Rotacaps is Formoterol, a long-acting beta2 agonist, which controls wheezing, breathing difficulties, and chest tightness. Foracort rotacaps also contain Budesonide, which helps to reduce inflammation in the airways and reduces the chances of worsening asthma symptoms. The combination drug is also used twice daily to maintain airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema and bronchitis. This medication is not intended to relieve symptoms of acute bronchospasm.
Product Description
Don’t use Foracort Rotacaps if you are allergic to Budesonide, Formoterol, or milk proteins. Also, avoid this medication if you already have an asthma attack or severe COPD.
To ensure that this medication is safe for you, let your doctor know if you have any of these conditions: food or drug allergy; heart disease or high blood pressure; seizure or epilepsy disorder; diabetes; eye disorder like glaucoma; tuberculosis; an infection; liver disease; thyroid problem; osteoporosis; or compromised immunity. Remember not to use another form of Formoterol Fumarate (Severent) medicine or a similar inhaled bronchodilator (Foradil) like Formoterol unless directed by your doctor.
This medication may reduce the count of white blood cells in your body which are crucial to your body’s defence against foreign bodies and infections. Hence stay away from sick people and avoid places where infections are high, like hospitals. Seek medical help if you are exposed to chicken pox or measles, as it can be fatal in people taking steroidal medications.
Side Effects
Some common side effects of Foracort Rotacaps are dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dry mouth, runny nose, sinus pain, cough, or hoarse or deepened voice. Contact your doctor if these conditions persist or deteriorate.
Some allergic reactions to Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate may include hives, breathing difficulty, face, lips, or throat swelling. Contact your doctor immediately in such cases. Other serious side effects are tremors, restless feeling, fever, stabbing chest pain, yellow or green mucus in cough, blurriness, mouth or lip sores, deteriorating asthma, irregular hear bets, and bronchospasm. Get immediate medical help in such cases.

How to Use
Use Foracort rotacaps exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Let him know if the medicine does not affect you. It may be because you are not using it properly; ensure proper usage with your health care provider. In general, Foracort Rotacaps should be used only twice daily, every day, by the orally inhaled route. After inhalation, the patient should wash the mouth with water without swallowing.
To prevent yeast infection, rinse your mouth with water after spraying. Keep a stock of the number of sprays used and discard the canister after about 120 sprays, even if you feel that there is some amount of medication left in it. Do not stop using a steroidal medication suddenly, or you may get undesirable and nasty withdrawal effects. Stop the medication use gradually only when advised by the doctor.
