Description
Jalra 50+ 500 mg is the combination of Vildagliptin and Metformin used to treat patients with type 2 diabetes whose condition can’t be controlled by diet and exercise alone. Both medicines work together to help control blood glucose levels. Such medications are also known as oral antidiabetics. The exact mechanism of action of this combination antidiabetic agent is not known, but it has been shown to reduce glucose absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, reduce glucogenesis, and enhance insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
Product Description
Do not take Jalra if allergic to Vildagliptin, metformin, or other medicine ingredients. Avoid taking this medicine if you have uncontrolled diabetes, recently had a heart attack, heart failure, severe infection, severely reduced kidney or liver function, drink alcohol excessively, or are breastfeeding. The combination antidiabetic medicine is not a substitute for insulin. Therefore, you should not receive Jalra, the combination antidiabetic agent for treating type 1 diabetes.
Speak to your doctor if you have had a pancreas disease before taking this combination medicine. Tell your doctor about diabetes treatment if you are undergoing surgery under a general anaesthetic. The use of vildagliptin/metformin in children and adolescents up to 18 years of age is not recommended.
Side Effects
Speak to your doctor immediately if you experience deep or rapid breathing, vomiting, persistent nausea, and stomach pain, as this combination of antidiabetic medicine contributes to a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is the presence of excessive lactic acidosis in the bloodstream.
How to Use
Take Jalra in addition to regular exercise and a healthy diet to lower blood glucose levels. Take it with food to reduce your chance of having an upset stomach. Weight gain and low blood sugar risks are lesser than other antidiabetic agents. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Take the pill in the morning and the other in the evening with or after food. Take one tablet in the morning and the other in the evening with or after having food. Consuming the pill just after food reduces the risk of stomach problems.
Be sure to follow any diet advice that your doctor has given you. If you are following a diabetic weight control diet, continue with this while taking Vildagliptin/metformin hydrochloride. Stop taking the combination antidiabetic agent for a short period if you have a condition related to dehydration (significant loss of fluids), such as severe diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, exposure to heat, or if you consume less fluid than normal. Discontinue treatment immediately if you experience lactic acidosis (lactic acid buildup in the bloodstream), as this condition may lead to a coma. Lactic acidosis may cause muscle cramps, vomiting, stomach pain, difficulty breathing, reduced body temperature, and heartbeat.
