Product Description
You will not be prescribed Lefumide if any of the following applies to you are:
— Pregnant or breastfeeding
— Planning to conceive
— Taking another treatment that could interact with Leflunomide
Some other things might affect whether you can take Lefumide 10 mg. Inform your doctor if you have:
- Liver problems Lefumide can seriously affect your liver
- Severe infection
- Nerve damage
- Weak immune system
- Ever had kidney problems
- Taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medications
- History of bone marrow problems
- History of tuberculosis
- Ever had an allergic reaction to Leflunomide
- Low number of proteins
Side Effects
You may not have any side effects from taking Lefumide 10 mg. Some people may experience loose bowel motions or diarrhoea, but this usually resolves after a couple of weeks. Other side effects can include weight loss, feeling sick, mouth ulcers, unusual tiredness, dry skin or a rash, headaches, stomach pain, or a slight rise in blood pressure. Some people get hair loss, but this is rare and usually minor. Talk to your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any side effects or changes that cause trouble. If you develop serious side effects, you may need to discontinue the medicine and require treatment to resolve the side effect.
If you have psoriasis and find your skin becomes inflamed, irritated, or infected once you have started taking medicine. Speak to your doctor. If you develop shortness of breath and dry cough after starting Lefumide, you should talk to your doctor.
How to Use
You will need to swallow Lefumide tablets with water, and you can take them before or after consuming food. Swallow the pill whole and not chew or crush it. It is best to take medicine at the same time each day. If you miss a dose, take your tablet as soon as you remember unless it’s almost to take the next dose. Taking too much of this medicine causes stomach pain, pale skin, diarrhoea, dark urine, bruising, or bleeding caused by jaundice. If you are sensitive to lactose, soya, or peanut, speak to your doctor before taking Lefumide 10 mg, as it contains the extract of the allergens.
