    Description

Oncotrex 5 mg contains the active component methotrexate, an antimetabolite and immunosuppressant that affects the reproduction of the body’s cells and reduces the activity of the immune system. It is indicated for the treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis in adult patients. It treats severe resistant disabling psoriasis, which is not adequately responsive to other therapies such as phototherapy or PUVA.

Oncotrex is effective in treating severe psoriatic arthritis in adult patients. Methotrexate is usually used for patients who have tried other treatments but whose illnesses have not improved. It helps patients with psoriasis by destroying the cells in the rapidly growing skin. These fast-growing cells cause raised patches of psoriasis. In treating rheumatoid arthritis, Oncotrex is used to stop or reduce inflammation in the joints by affecting the body’s defence mechanism in the immune system.

    Product Description

Oncotrex 5 mg is not recommended for use in children. Do not take this medicine if you have kidney disease, liver disease, bone marrow disease, impaired immune system, inflammation of ulcers in your mouth, gastrointestinal ulcers, or serious blood disorders.

Women using this medicine should use contraception or encourage their sexual partners too. If you plan to start a family, speak to your doctor as soon as possible.
