    Prazopress XL

    Product Description

       —  Follow all directions carefully by your doctor. Your doctor will instruct you on how much of this medicine you should take. This usually depends on your condition and whether you are taking any other medicine. Do not stop taking medicine or change the dose without first checking with the doctor. Swallow the pill with a glass full of water. You can break the tablet in half if your doctor has instructed. Take your very first dose just before going to bed. Be careful if you need to wake up during the night because you may feel dizzy and could fall. It does not matter if you take it before or after food

    — Prazopress XL GITS helps control your condition but does not cure it. Therefore, you must take your medicine every day. If you take this medicine for high blood pressure, heart failure, or Raynaud’s disorder, you must take it for a long time.

    — If you take Prazosin tablets for prostate problems, you will only have to take them until your operation. Continue taking medicine for as long as your doctor tells you.

    — The dose of Prazopress should be adjusted according to the patient’s blood pressure response

    — Prazopress is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to quinolones, Prazosin, or any of the other ingredients

    — Prazosin is excreted in small amounts in breast milk. Caution should be taken when Prazosin is administered to a nursing woman.

    — It may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, especially when you start taking medicine. To minimize the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, stand slowly if you sit or lie down.

    — Do not consume alcohol while taking medication, as it may increase the blood pressure-lowering effect of this drug, causing increased dizziness.

    — You should be careful while driving or indulging in activities that require concentration, as it may cause sleepiness or dizziness. Tell your doctor that you are taking prazosin tablets if you are scheduled for cataract surgery.

    Side Effects

Serious side effects of Prazopress include first-dose hypotension, and therefore, it is recommended to take the initial dose at night. Also, patients taking this antihypertensive agent may develop orthostatic hypotension and syncope. In cataract surgeries, patients taking Prazosin may develop intraoperative floppy iris syndrome due to the drug’s effect on the iris dilator muscle.

Common side effects in patients taking Prazopress XL GITS are headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, palpitations, drowsiness, and lack of energy.

    How to Use

The dose of Prazopress should be adjusted according to the patient’s blood pressure response. Here is a guide to its administration:

The route for the administration of Prazopress is oral. Talk to your doctor about the correct dosing regimen. When adding a diuretic or antihypertensive drug, the dose of Prazopress should be reduced. Concomitant administration of Prazopress with a PDE5 inhibitor can result in additive blood pressure-lowering effects and symptomatic hypotension; therefore, PDE5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil) therapy should be initiated at the lowest dose in patients taking Prazosin.
