Description
Qutipin 25 contains the active ingredient Quetiapine fumarate, a psychotropic agent used to treat schizophrenia in people 13 years or older and bipolar disorder in adults. It is supplied for oral administration as 25 mg tablets.
Qutipin is effective in treating the following illnesses:
— Acute and chronic psychoses, including schizophrenia
— Manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder
— Depressive conditions associated with bipolar disorder
Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder that can interfere with a person’s thinking, emotions, and behaviour. Bipolar disorder is a chronic mental condition that may require long-life treatment.
Product Description
Qutipin 25 mg is contraindicated in patients allergic to this drug or any ingredients in the formulation.
Depression is associated with an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and self-harm, as improvement may not occur during the initial weeks of treatment. Patients should be closely monitored until improvement occurs.
Talk to your doctor before taking Quetiapine if you have:
— low blood pressure
— had a stroke
— ever had a seizure
— diabetes
— are elderly with Parkinson’s disease
— problems with your liver
Family history of blood clots, such as medicines like Qutipin, have been associated with the formation of blood clots.
A history of alcohol abuse
Do not take Quetiapine tablets if you are taking any of the following medicines:
— Azole medicines for fungal infections
— Nefazodone for depression
— Some medicines for HIV
— Erythromycin or clarithromycin for infection
Let your doctor know if you take any of the following medicines:
— High blood pressure drugs
— Barbiturates for difficulty sleeping
— Epilepsy medicines like carbamazepine or phenytoin
— Medicines that cause constipation
— Other antipsychotic medicines
— Certain antibiotics to treat infections
Side Effects
Very common side effects of Qutipin 25 mg are:
Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, Feeling sleepy, Putting on weight, Abnormal muscle movements, Sore throat, Difficulty moving, Constipation, Abdominal pain, Weakness
In children and adolescents:
Vomiting, Rapid heartbeat, Increased appetite, Nausea, Dry mouth, Weight gain

How to Use
Qutipin 25 mg is for oral use only. Take it exactly as your doctor has instructed you to take it. It can be administered before or after consuming food. If you wish to stop the treatment, please talk to your doctor first. Sudden discontinuation may cause side effects such as trouble sleeping or trouble to stay asleep, nausea, and vomiting. The medicine should be consumed once daily before bedtime.
Dose adjustments should be made depending on the clinical response and tolerability of the individual patient.
Children and Adolescents- Qutipin should not be given to children and adolescents below 18 years of age
Elderly- As with antipsychotic agents, Qutipin should be used with caution in the elderly, especially during the initial days of the treatment.
Hepatic impairment- Qutipin should be used with caution in patients with known hepatic insufficiency, especially during the initial days of the treatment.
