Description
R-cin 600 mg is an antibiotic prescribed for treating tuberculosis, an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs and, in some cases, other body parts. It contains the active ingredient Rifampicin, which belongs to a class of medications known as antibacterials. The class of drugs works by killing the bacteria that cause infection. Rifampicin may be used alone or with other medications to fight off serious infections. It is also effective in treating some people who have Neisseria meningitides, a type of bacteria that can cause a serious infection called meningitis. These people have not developed symptoms of the disease, and this medicine is used to prevent them from infecting other people.
R cin should not be given to people with meningitis symptoms. R cin, being an antibiotic, will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. Using antibiotics when they are not needed may increase your risk of getting an infection later that may not be treated with antibiotic treatment (resistance).
Product Description
Before starting treatment with R-cin, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, suffering from liver, kidney, or heart problems or allergic to any medicine. Your doctor will regularly perform blood tests for liver function during the treatment. Tell your doctor if you are taking or using hormonal contraceptives (birth control pills, patches, implants, rings, and injections). Rifampicin can reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives. You should also tell your doctor if you wear soft contact lenses. Rifampicin may also cause permanent red stains on your lenses if you wear them during this antibiotic treatment.
Side Effects
Some people may develop side effects like headaches, low blood platelets, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, and fever. These side effects are usually mild and resolve during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Tell your doctor if these side effects trouble you or do not resolve.
How to Use
R cin 600 mg capsules may also be given to infected people who do not have signs and symptoms of an infection. Take the capsules on an empty stomach at least half an hour before or two hours after a meal. It should be taken in the dose and duration your doctor advises.
