Description
Renodapt S 360 is a prescription drug to prevent rejection in people who have received a heart, kidney, or liver transplant. Rejection happens when the body’s defence system the new organ a foreign object and attacks it. It is used with other medicines called cyclosporines and corticosteroids. These medications work together to prevent the rejection of your transplanted organ. Renodapt S has been used safely and effectively in children who received a kidney transplant as it does in adults.
Product Description
Do not take Renodapt S 360 mg if you are allergic to mycophenolate mofetil or any of the ingredients in this medicine.
Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions if any of the following applies to you:
— Have a digestive problem
— Have Phenylketonuria
— Have Lesch Nyhan or Kelley-Seegmiller syndrome or another rare inherited deficiency syndrome
— Plan to receive any vaccines
— Are you pregnant or planning to conceive
— Are breastfeeding
Inform your doctor about all the medications you have been using. Especially let your doctor know if you take the following:
— Birth control pills
— Antacids that contain magnesium and aluminium
— Rifampicin
— Acyclovir valganciclovir, ganciclovir
— Ciprofloxacin, clavulanic acid, and amoxicillin plus
— Sevelamer
— Azathioprine
— Norfloxacin and metronidazole
— Cholestyramine
— Sulfamethoxazole
Do not take any new medicine without talking to your doctor.
Limit your sun exposure. Avoid using tanning beds or sunlamps. People who take Renodapt S have a higher risk of developing skin cancer. Wear sun-protective clothing when you are outside in the sun, and use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. This is especially important when you are too fair or have a family history of skin cancer.
Side Effects
Common side effects include:
- Call your doctor straight away if you have diarrhoea. Do not stop taking medicine without first talking to your doctor.
- Stomach pain
- High blood pressure
- Pain
- Vomiting
- Swelling of the lower legs, ankles and feet
Side effects that develop more often in children than in adults taking Renodapt S 360 mg include:
- Fever
- Sore throat
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Stomach pain
- Blood infection
- Pain
- High blood pressure
- Colds (respiratory tract infections)
- Low red blood cell count
- Low white blood cell count
These are not all possible side effects of Renodapt S. Tell your doctor about any side effect that bothers you or does not resolve.
How to Use
Take Renodapt S 360mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip medicine or change the dose unless your doctor tells you. Take the tablet on an empty stomach, either one hour before or two hours after a meal, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Some people may get this medicine soon after their transplant surgery as an infusion into a vein. Do not break or crush the tablets. Your doctor may prescribe an oral suspension if you cannot swallow the pill. Call your doctor immediately if you accidentally take too much of this medicine.
