Description
Sebfin 250 mg is effective against various fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails. It contains the active ingredient Terbinafine HCL, which belongs to the category of drugs known as antifungals, which works by killing the fungus that contributes to infection. Your doctor may also prescribe the antifungal drug for the treatment of fungal infection in the groin area, skin/ (ringworm), and the feet (athlete’s feet). Medicines are sometimes prescribed for medical conditions other than those listed in this medication guide. Do not start this antifungal treatment for which it was not prescribed. Take it under the supervision of a doctor.
Product Description
Do not take Sebfin 250 mg tablet if you are allergic to any of its active or inactive ingredient. Talk to your doctor before taking the Terbinafine medicine if you are pregnant, have kidney or liver problems, have psoriasis, or have a rash. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, including vitamins or herbal supplements. Terbinafine may affect the mode of action of other medications. Especially tell your doctor if you take medication for depression, high blood pressure, heart problems, fluconazole, cimetidine, cyclosporine, caffeine, desipramine. Your doctor should be aware of all your prescription and non-prescription medicines that you have been using.
Side Effects
Some common side effects of Terbinafine HCl oral medicine are diarrhoea, stomach upset, or a temporary change or loss of taste. In contrast, some common side effects of Terbinafine HCl topical cream are burning, redness, itching, or irritation. If any of these side effects persist or deteriorate, get medical help right away.
A serious side effect due to Terbinafine HCl is rare but gets medical attention right away in case you get severe side effect to this medicine. The side effects mentioned above are not the only ones that you may experience or witness due to Terbinafine HCl. If you get any serious side effects due to this medication, contact your doctor right away.
How to Use
Your doctor may ask you to take the tablet with or without food. You need to take it regularly for best effects. Take it as per your doctor’s recommendations. The medicine comes in the form of a tablet. For the fungal infection of the toenail, it is usually taken one time daily for six weeks. For toenail infection, you may ask to take one tablet daily for twelve weeks. If your kidneys are not working well, your doctor may reduce the dose.
If you feel any frightening symptoms, then immediately call the doctor and inform him about the possible side effects of overdosage. If the situation worsens, then visit the nearest healthcare centre.
