Danogen 50 mg capsules treat endometriosis, a disease that occurs when tissues like the uterine lining grow outside the uterus, typically in the pelvis. It also relieves severe pain and tenderness associated with fibrocystic breast disease.
The lining of the uterus is termed endometrium; part of it sheds during the menstrual period. In endometriosis, endometrium-like tissue is found outside the uterus, such as around the uterus intestines and other organs in the pelvic area. Some females with endometriosis have symptoms such as pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during intercourse, and painful bowel movements.
Danogen changes the endometrium, so it shrinks in size. Patients usually relieve painful symptoms within a few weeks after starting the medicine.
In patients with benign fibrocystic breast disease, Danogen relieves pain and tenderness in the breast ad may cause nodules to shrink. Patients using Danogen 50 may begin to disappear after about one month. Nodules begin to shrink in six after two to three months of treatment. After starting treatment with Danazol, you will probably have one or more periods. Your periods will stop while receiving Danogen capsules; however, you may experience occasional spotting or vaginal bleeding.
Product Description
Danogen 50 is contraindicated in the following conditions:
— Undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding
— Androgen-dependent tumor
— Impaired renal, hepatic, or cardiac function
— Hypersensitivity to Danazol
— Pregnancy
— Breastfeeding
— Porphyria
— Active thrombosis or thromboembolic disease and a history of such conditions
Because Danogen may cause some degree of fluid retention, conditions that might be affected by this factor, such as epilepsy, cardiac, migraine, renal dysfunction, hypertension, and polycythemia, require careful observation.
Danogen usage has been reported to cause exacerbation of the manifestations of acute intermittent porphyria.
Danazol can cause harm to your unborn baby when administered to a pregnant woman. Using this medicine to treat endometriosis may increase the risk of cancer of the ovaries or may cause liver tumour.
Before you use Danazol, talk to your doctor if any of the following applies to you:
- High blood pressure
- Kidney, liver, or heart disease
- Blood clots
- Had an organ transplant
- Recent undergone surgery
- Suffer from migraines
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
Let your doctor know if you experience any of the following symptoms:
— Development of male characteristics such as the growth of body hair, deepening of the voice, clitoral thickening etc.
— Headache or changes in vision due to increased fluid pressure in the skull
— Yellowing of the skin or eyes, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fever, feeling unwell, itching, unusual tiredness, unusual darkening of the urine, pain, and discomfort in the right upper stomach area.
Side Effects
Danogen 50 mg causes changes to your body’s normal sex hormone levels; as a result, you may notice the following side effects: edema, acne, decrease in breast size, weight gain, increase in the size of the clitoris, nervousness, mood changes, visual hallucinations, seizures, etc. Tell your doctor if any of these become troublesome or persist for longer.
How to Use
Treatment with Danogen should not be interrupted by missed doses. The medicine should be started during your period. You must see a non-hormonal method of contraception while taking Danazol 50 mg. Talk to your doctor about the recommended dosage.
