Description
Dexona 0.5 mg has dexamethasone as an active ingredient. The medicine is available in the form of a tablet. It is a corticosteroid that prevents the discharge of substances in the human body that cause inflammation. Dexamethasone is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, immune/hormone/ blood system disorders, allergic reactions, certain skin and eyes conditions, breathing disorder, certain bowel disorders, and certain cancers. It is also used as a test for an adrenal gland disorder (Cushing’s syndrome). Other names of this drug are dexamethasone sodium phosphate, dexamethasone acetate.

You should not use Dexona 0.5 mg if you are allergic to its active ingredient dexamethasone, or if you have a fungal infection somewhere in your body. Its active constituent Dexamethasone can weaken your immune system, making it easier for you to acquire an infection. As it contains a corticosteroid, steroids can also worsen an infection you already have, or reactivate an infection you recently had. If you are using an antibiotic, antifungal medicine, antidepressants, hepatitis C infections.
Side Effects
Keep in mind that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the advantage to you is greater than the risk of side effects. How to Use
Take Dexona 0.5 mg tablet exactly as prescribed by your health care specialist. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
