Description
Falcigo 60 mg contains the active ingredient Artesunate, an antiparasitic medication used to treat malaria. Artesunate, the medicine’s active ingredient, belongs to a group of medications known as antimalarials. It is the first-line treatment recommended by WHO for severe malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum in children and adults. It treats malaria, a red blood cell infection transmitted by the bite of a mosquito. Artesunate is a short-acting parasite more rapidly than conventional antimalarials because it is active against both the sexual and asexual stages of the parasite cycle, destroying all stages, thus resulting in more rapid recovery. The medicine is given by a doctor and should not be self-administered.

How to Use
The dosage depends on age, weight, medical condition, and response to the treatment. Therefore, your doctor will decide on the dose. Take the dose exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not double the dose.
The drug is available in the form of an injection. Artesunate injection comes in a pure liquid form to be injected intravenously in a vein or intramuscularly into a muscle. It should be administered at 60 mg once daily for 5-7 days for a course. If you are taking this medication at home, use this drug exactly as directed by your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Artesunate, take it as soon as you remember. Never take the missed dose if the time to take the next dose is almost up. Taking multiple doses at almost the same time can lead to excess medication in your body, which can be harmful.
