Description
Gabapin 800 mg is a prescription treatment for adults with postherpetic neuralgia. The condition has a direct impact on nerve fibres and skin, causing painful blistering skin rash burning pain that is persistent after the rash disappear. It is also useful as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial seizures with and without secondary generalization in adults and paediatrics aged three years and older. The medicine is not effective for those who are allergic to gabapentin or other inactive ingredients of the medicine.
Product Description
Talk to your doctor before taking Gabapin 800 mg capsule if you suffer from kidney problems, develop signs of persistent stomach pain, nervous system disorder, or are on haemodialysis. A small number of populations have been reported to have suicidal thoughts. If at any time you have these thoughts, immediately speak to your doctor. Also, if this medicine is being taken along with antacids containing magnesium or aluminium, absorption of Gabapentin 800 mg from the gastrointestinal tract may be reduced. Therefore, doctors ask to take this medicine at least two hours after taking an antacid. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Gabapin 800 mg can cause adverse effects, however, you may or may not get these side effects. Contact your doctor straight away if you have severe skin reactions that require immediate medical attention, persistent stomach pain, breathing problems, which if severe may require immediate medical attention to control breathing. Be sure to inform your doctor if you get side effects associated with gabapentin tablets. Call your doctor if you have side effects such as hives, fever, frequent infections, unexpected muscle aches, severe fatigue or weakness, unusual bleeding, yellowing of the skin.
How to Use
Normally, the dose can vary depending on how well it works for you as well as how your response to the treatment. Once your doctor has found a satisfactory dosage level, there is no reason to make changes in your dosing regimen. Your doctor may ask you to take one tablet at bedtime and then may increase every three to five days as per your condition. Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to take and how often to help control the pain. Do not take more medicine than your doctor tells you to. You may take it before or after consuming food. Do not keep a gap of more than twelve hours between doses. It is extremely important to discuss with your doctor before taking the drug.
