    Clindamycin and Tretinoin is a combination medicine prescribed for the treatment of severe nodular acne in adults and children who are at least 12 years or above in age. Clindamycin is an antibiotic which fights bacteria in the body whereas Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A which reduces the amount of oil produced by the oil glands in the skin and helping it renew itself quickly.

    Working of the drug:

    How to apply the drug?

    • While applying Tretinoin Gel, follow these steps:
    • Wash your hands and the skin area affected using a mild soap and water
    • Pat dry your skin with a cotton cloth
    • Wait for 15-30 minutes before applying this medicine
    • Use clean fingertips, a cotton swab to apply the medication( a pea sized)
    • Apply only the enough amount of medicine to cover the area lightly
    • Apply it religiously before bedtime, so as the acne scars heal faster.
    • Proper care of the infected area is necessary. Time to time application of the Gel will prove beneficial and will speed up the healing procedure.

    For how long to apply?

    Use this medicine as long as the doctor tells you to take. Use the medication exactly as directed. Never use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

    Overdose:

    Miss dose:

    Therefore, while using Clindamycin and Tretinoin, avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays (sunlamps or tanning beds). If you do require to go out and get exposed to sunlight,

    protect your skin by wearing proper protective clothing and putting on a good sunscreen. Ask your doctor about the type (SPF) of sunscreen to be used. Your skin mayalso become sensitive to weather conditions such as cold, wind, or dryness. You must protect your skin with proper clothing and products like moisturizing cream or lotion as needed.
