Description
Each Sicriptin tablet for oral administration contains 2.5% bromocriptine mesylate, which belongs to a class of medications known as dopamine agonists and prolactin inhibitors. Sicriptin is effective in treating the following conditions:
— Parkinson’s disease
— Prolactinoma
— Co-treatment of acromegaly with surgery or radiotherapy. Acromegaly is an abnormal growth of hands, feet, and face caused by the pituitary gland’s excess production of growth hormone.
— Hyperprolactinaemia is a condition of abnormally high levels of prolactin that causes unexplained milk secretion, irregular periods in women, and a lack of sex drive in men.
— Problems associated with the menstrual cycle and female infertility caused by hyperprolactinemia
Product Description
Do not take Sicriptin 2.5 mg if you are allergic to Bromocriptine, other similar drugs, or other medicine ingredients. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include itching, rash, difficulty, or swelling of the face, tongue, lips, tongue, or throat.
You should also avoid this medicine if any of the following applies to you have:
— High blood pressure
— Have heart disease
— Have or ever had serious mental illness
— Have severe blood vessel disease
— You will be treated with Sicriptin for a long period and have had fibrotic reactions affecting your heart.
Speak to your doctor before taking Bromocriptine if you have any of the following conditions:
- Severe headache
- Visual disturbances
- A history of stomach ulcers
- Have given birth within the last six weeks
- You become pregnant
- Have swollen legs
- You develop back pain
- Develop a respiratory infection, cough, or chest pain
- Have kidney problems that cause difficulty urinating
- Taking a medicine that alters blood pressure
Side Effects
Common side effects of Sicriptin 2.5 mg include dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, blocked nose, constipation, feeling, and being sick. Most of these side effects are temporary and resolve within a few days. Tell your doctor immediately if you get sudden wheeziness, difficulty breathing, rash, itching, or swelling of the eyelid, face, or lips.
Seek immediate medical help if any of the following symptoms if you have:
— Vision problems after giving birth
— Headache which does not resolve
— Blood in your stools
— Vomit blood that looks like coffee granules
— Severe pains in your stomach
— Breathing problems, swollen legs, chest, or back pain
You must tell your doctor if you experience any of these behaviours; they will discuss ways of managing or reducing the symptoms.
How to Use
It is recommended that Sicriptin be taken with food. Patients should be evaluated frequently during dose escalation to determine the lowest dose that produces a therapeutic response. The dose usually depends on the condition for which it is being used. For most conditions, your doctor may start you on a low dose and then gradually increase the dose as necessary. This will help you adjust to the new medicine and stop you from getting any side effects.
