Description
Silodal 8 mg contains Silodosin, an adrenoreceptor antagonist, considered the first-line treatment for men with lower urinary tract symptoms suggestive of bladder outlet obstruction caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Urinary symptoms associated with benign enlargement of the prostate include difficulty passing urine, a feeling of not emptying the bladder, and an urge to pass urine, even at night. Silodosin is a medicine that works by blocking the receptors located in the prostate, bladder, and urethra. Blocking these receptors causes smooth muscles to relax, making it easier to pass urine and relieve symptoms.
Product Description
Do not give Silodal 8 mg to children and adolescents below 18 years of age since there is no relevant indication for this population. Tell your doctor if you take medicines to lower blood pressure, antifungal medicines, drugs used for epilepsy, erection problems, epilepsy, and medicines used after transplants to prevent organ rejection. The medicine is not recommended for women. Do not drive or operate machines during the treatment, especially if you feel dizzy or have blurred vision.
Side Effects
Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any allergic reaction. An allergic reaction’s symptoms include difficulty breathing, itchy skin, feeling faint, hives, swelling of the face or throat. The most common side effect is decreased amount of semen released during sex. However, the effect is temporary and resolve after treatment discontinuation. Please, let your doctor know if you are planning to have children.
How to Use
Take Silodal 8 mg exactly as your doctor has told you. Follow the instruction carefully given on your prescription. If you have any doubt, please talk to your doctor. The usual recommended dose is one capsule per day. Take the capsule with food, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the capsule with a glass of water. Patients with moderate kidney problems may be advised by their doctor to take a different dose. Therefore, inform your doctor if you have moderate kidney problems. Continue taking medicine, and if you stop treatment, your symptoms may re-appear if you have further questions about using the Silodosin capsule.
