It contains the active ingredient Midodrine, which increases blood pressure by causing blood vessels to tighten. Xidorin 2.5 is available in tablets and has an oral route of administration. Product Description
Xidorin 2.5 mg should not be used without first consulting your doctor. It should particularly be avoided in the following conditions:
- Kidney disease
- Severe heart disease
- Urinary difficulties
- high blood pressure experienced when lying down
- A tumour of the adrenal gland
- An overactive thyroid
- An allergy to Midodrine hydrochloride or any other ingredients of the medicine
You should always tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking or planning to take, including vitamins and herbal supplements. Drugs that may interact with Midodrine include digoxin, phenylephrine, dihydroergotamine, Prazoxinl, labetalol, and doxazosin. Speak to your doctor to get the complete list of drug interactions.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Xidorin 2.5 mg are high blood pressure experienced when sitting or lying position, itching in the skin, pain in the stomach, hair disease, nervousness rash, pain, nausea, shortness of breath. Most of these side effects are mild and resolve within a few days. Some patients may experience serious side effects as well. Talk to your doctor if you develop serious side effects such as abnormal heartbeat, loss of vision, and increased dizziness.
How to Use
Treatment with Xidorin 2. 5 mg should be started under medical supervision so that your blood pressure levels can be measured carefully. The starting dose is 2.5 mg thrice daily or as directed by your doctor. Prefer to take medicine during daytime hours and should not be taken after the evening meal or less than four hours before bedtime. Seek immediate medical help if you take an overdose of the medicine. Symptoms of Xidorin 2.5 mg overdose may include increased blood pressure, headache, increased sensation in your eyes, difficulty urinating, and a cold feeling.
