Description
Silodal 4 mg is an option for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia that give rise to lower urinary tract symptoms such as weak urine flow, nocturia (waking up during the night to urinate), and incomplete emptying of the bladder if any of these signs are sufficiently bothersome and requires treatment. It contains the active ingredient Silodosin, which blocks certain receptors in the smooth muscle of the prostate and bladder to reduce resistance and to improve urine flow.
Product Description
Silodal 4 mg should not be given to patients with known hypersensitivity o Silodosin or any other medicine components. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic and renal impairment. Silodosin should not be administered to patients using clarithromycin, ritonavir, ketoconazole, and itraconazole. If you are undergoing eye surgery, such as cataract surgery, you should immediately inform your ophthalmologist that you are using a Silodosin formulation. Some patients receiving Silodal experienced a loss of muscle tone in the iris during cataract surgery. Discuss if you should temporarily stop treatment when undergoing cataract surgery with your ophthalmologist. Dizziness when standing up may occur when taking the BPH medicine, especially during the initial days of the treatment or if you are taking blood pressure-lowering drugs. Since a benign enlargement of the prostate and prostate cancer may present the same symptoms, you should talk to your doctor so that he can check you for prostate cancer before starting treatment with Silodal 4 mg. Silodosin is not effective in treating cancer of the prostate.

The most common side effects are retrograde ejaculation, which leads to discontinuation treatment in a few patients under a doctor’s supervision. Other more frequent problems with Silodal included diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and orthostatic hypotension.
