Description
Sorbitrate 10 mg prevents chest pain (angina) in patients with a certain heart conditions, including coronary artery disease. It contains the active ingredient Isosorbide dinitrate, which belongs to a class of drugs known as nitrates that causes the widening of blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily to the heart. This medicine will not relieve chest pain once it occurs. This medicine should not be used before physical activities to prevent chest pain. Other medicines may be required in these conditions. Before taking Sorbitrate 10 mg, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it or similar drugs or have any other allergies. Sorbitrate may make you dizzy. Alcohol or marijuana may make you dizzier. Avoid driving, using machinery, or doing things that need alertness until you can do it safely.
Before having surgery, let your doctor know that you are using this medicine. Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this medicine, especially dizziness and lightheadedness, which could increase the risks of falls.
Side Effects
Headache, nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, and flushing may occur. If any of these side effects worsen or persist, tell your doctor immediately. Headache is often a sign that this medicine is working. Your doctor may recommend treating headaches with an over-the-counter pain reliever (such as aspirin or acetaminophen). Talk to your doctor immediately if the headaches continue to become severe. To reduce lightheadedness, get up slowly from a sitting or a lying position.
A very serious allergic reaction to Sorbitrate is rare. However, seek immediate medical help if you notice any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction:

— Swelling of the face/throat/tongue
— Severe dizziness
— Trouble breathing

How to Use
