Description
T Bact 15 gm (Mupirocin), sold under several other brands, is prescribed for treating certain skin infections (e.g., impetigo). It is an antibiotic that works by hindering the growth of certain bacteria. The drug is available in the form of an ointment. The topical formulation kills certain bacteria and improves symptoms to cure the underlying infection. The cream is meant for external purposes only and should be applied to the affected area as prescribed.

— If the medicine gets accidentally into your eyes, then wash your eyes thoroughly with water

You should not take the drug if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medication or you are pregnant. The breastfeeding mom should not use this cream as it may get absorbed into the skin.
Side Effects
Mupirocin ointment may cause side effects like burning, stinging, itching or pain initially as your body tries to adjust to it. Notify your doctor if any of these effects persist or deteriorate.
Many people using this medication may not even experience any side effects. Seek immediate medical attention if you get a rash or severe itching. Using this medication for a very long period or repeatedly may cause a new infection (e.g., fungal infection). Contact your doctor if you notice signs of a new infection.
How to Use
T Bact (Mupirocin) ointment is used only on the skin. Before applying the cream, clean and dry the affected area. Apply a small amount of cream to the affected area thrice a day or as advised by your doctor.
You must use this medication regularly as prescribed to get the most benefit out of it. Continue to use it for the full amount of time prescribed. Discontinuing the medication too early may cause the bacteria to continue to grow, resulting in a relapse of the infection that can be drug resistant. Do not let Mupirocin ointment get into your eyes, nose, mouth, or on large areas of damaged or broken skin unless directed by your doctor. Remember to inform your doctor if your condition does not improve in 3-5 days. Always store this medication in a cool and dry place, preferably at room temperature and away from heat or moisture.
Application methods:
— Wash your hands before the application
— Apply the medicine to the area infected
— Do not wrap bandage
— Do not use large amounts of this medication or apply it more often than directed
Apply it gently and religiously, so the healing process becomes faster. Proper care of the infected area is necessary. From time to time, the ointment application will prove beneficial and speed up the healing procedure.
After one week of treatment, the Ointment must be applied twice or three times per week.
