    Description

    Tafero 25 mg is indicated for treating chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV infection) in adults with compensated liver disease. Hepatitis B is an infection that affects the liver and is caused by the hepatitis B virus. Each Tafero tablet contains 25 mg of tenofovir alafenamide, an antiviral agent that controls the infection by stopping the virus from multiplying.

    Product Description

    Do not take Tafero if you are allergic to Tenofovir alafenamide or any other ingredients in the medicine.

    Take care not to pass on your hepatitis B to others: You can still pass on the virus even while taking Tafero. This antiviral medicine does not reduce the risk of passing hepatitis B to others through blood contamination, or It is important to take precautions to avoid this. Talk to your doctor about what precautions you need to take to avoid infecting sexual contact.

    If you have any of the below conditions, please speak to your doctor before taking this antiviral medication:

    • History of hepatic impairment: Patients with hepatic insufficiency, who are treated for hepatitis B with antiviral medicines, are more likely to develop severe and potentially fatal liver complications. He may perform blood tests to check how your liver is working.
    • Kidney disease or if tests have shown kidney issues before or during the treatment. Before starting and after treatment, your doctor may perform blood or urine tests to monitor your kidney function.
    • Hepatitis C or D- Tenofovir alafenamide has not been tested on patients who have hepatitis C or D or hepatitis B.
    • Already have HIV: If you are unsure whether you have HIV, your doctor will test you for HIV before prescribing Tafero for hepatitis B.
    • Do not give this medicine to children who are under 12 years of age and weigh less than 35 kg. The antiviral drug has not been tested in children under 12 and weighs less than 35 kg.

    Side Effects

    Common symptoms of Tafero include itchiness, rash, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, joint pain, dizziness, stomach pain, bloatedness, wind, and tiredness. If any of these side effects get serious, tell your doctor immediately. Also, there is a possibility that you get side effects not listed in this information guide.

    How to Use

    The recommended dose is one tablet a day with food. It is best to take Tafero with food to get the right level of medication in your body. The antiviral treatment continues for as long as your doctor instructs you. Generally, it is for at least 6 to 12 months and may be many years. Do not discontinue treatment without your doctor’s advice. Stopping the medication may cause your hepatitis B to get worse. This could be life-threatening in some patients with progressive liver conditions or cirrhosis.
