Description
Tenoric 100/25 mg combines two medicines, atenolol, and chlorthalidone, to treat hypertension. Atenolol belongs to a group of medicines known as beta-blockers that make your heart beat more slowly and forcefully. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that increases the urine produced by the kidneys. The antihypertensive effects of these agents are addictive. It has been shown that there is no interference with bioavailability when these agents are given together in a single combination tablet. Therefore, this combination provides a convenient formulation for the concomitant administration of these two drugs. In patients with more severe cases of hypertension, Tenoric may be administered with other antihypertensive agents, such as vasodilators. This medicine does not cure your disease but helps to control it.
