Description
Unicontin 600 mg treats asthma and other long-term breathing problems, such as chronic bronchitis and chronic pulmonary obstructive disease (COPD). It contains Theophylline as the active ingredient. It works by relaxing muscles in the lungs and opening air passages. This helps to relieve lung disease-associated symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing, and apnea. Unicontin may also be given to treat heart failure.
Product Description
Do not take taking Uncontin if you are allergic to Theophylline. Before using Unicontin 600 mg tablets, inform your doctor of the current medications, over-the-counter products (vitamins and herbal products), allergies, pre-existing medical conditions, and current health conditions such as pregnancy or upcoming surgery. Some health problems may make you more likely to get side effects of Theophylline. Avoid drinking or eating food high in caffeine. Get immediate medical help for cardiac failure, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, or kidney or liver dysfunction. Theophylline may interact with drugs such as albuterol, adenosine, amiodarone, amlodipine, azithromycin, bisoprolol, bambuterol, and allopurinol.
Driving or operating heavy machines may be unsafe if you experience drowsiness, headache, or hypotension as side effects when using Theophylline 600 mg tablets. One should not drive a vehicle if using the medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy or lowers your blood pressure extensively. You may also be advised not to drink alcohol with this medicine as alcohol intensifies the side effects of the medicine.
