Description
Valzaar 160 mg is a prescription medicine for the treatment of lower high blood pressure in adults and children above six years of age. It comprises the active ingredient Valsartan, which treats heart failure in adults. In these patients, the medicine blocks the action of a certain enzyme that causes vessels to tighten which increases blood pressure. By blocking the effect of the enzyme Angiotensin II, it causes blood vessels to relax and lowers the blood pressure.

Talk to your doctor if you have liver disease or undergoing dialysis, heart diseases other than heart failure or heart attack, disease of the adrenal gland, or lost a lot of fluid. Your doctor should be aware of all the medicines that you may be using including prescription and herbal supplements. Inform your doctor especially of aliskiren, lisinopril, enalapril, or spironolactone. You must tell your doctor if you think are pregnant or might become pregnant. The cholesterol-lowering drug is not recommended in early pregnancy as it may seriously harm to your baby. Your doctor may check you for kidney function, blood pressure, and the number of electrolytes in your bloodstream. If you are below 18 years of age, your doctor may check you for kidney function and the amount of potassium in your blood.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Valzaar 160 mg can cause side effects, however, you may or may not get any of the side effects. The frequency of side effects varies from one individual to another.
