Warf 2mg Tablet

Description

Warf 2 mg containing Warfarin is an anticoagulant drug (blood thinner) that prevents the formation of blood clots. Blood clots can lead to a heart attack or stroke. This medication is used to prevent heart attacks from and strokes. Warfarin is used extensively in preventing blood clots in cases such as DVT or deep vein thrombosis and Pulmonary embolus or PE. Warfarin works by preventing the synthesis of Blood clotting factors such as Vitamin K dependent factors such as II, VII, IX and X. Do not take this drug if you are allergic to this drug or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine, and smoke. Tell your doctor if you have blood pressure or kidney problems, have hemoglobin, have glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency, have heart problems, bone marrow suppression, and have kidney problems.

PRECAUTIONS

Other drugs may interact with Warfarin, so before taking it, share your list of any present medications with your doctor. Some medications like a blood thinner such as Warfarin may interact with Warfarin to cause bleeding. Other drugs not listed above may also interact with Warfarin as this is not a complete guide. Consult your doctor before taking this medication.

SIDE EFFECTS

Contact your doctor immediately or seek urgent medical help if you experience these serious allergic reactions due to Warfarin: breathing difficulty, swelling on face, lips, tongue, or throat; or skin hives.

Warfarin can lead to extensive liver damage leading to hospitalization or death. Immediately seek medical attention if you experience these symptoms while taking Warfarin: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, unusual fatigue, appetite loss, symptoms of flu, yellow skin or eyes, itching, clay-colored stools, or dark urine.

Some other less severe side effects of Warf 2 mg which have been observed over time are diarrhea, skin rash, increased sensitivity to sunlight, lower libido, impotence, decreased sperm count, rectal bleeding or inflammation, bloody urine, or amber or greenish urine.

These lists of side effects are non-exhaustive and there may be other side effects. Seek medical help if you witness any other severe side effects.

HOW TO USE

The normal dosage of Warfarin is pegged at a total of 750mg per day. It is taken as 2mg tablets thrice per day at 8 hours gap. Your dosage may change for reasons already mentioned above. Always follow what your doctor has prescribed. The dosage is determined by the doctor after examining you properly. Take Warfarin medication strictly as prescribed by your doctor and no changes whatsoever must be made to it without his or her advice. Warfarin is normally taken three times a day 8 hours apart. Follow your doctor’s advice carefully. Take each dose with a glass of water. Take Warfarin exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to explain them to you. Always store Warfarin medication in a cool and dry place, away from heat and moisture. Ensure that children and pets do not have access to Warfarin or any other medications. Take Warfarin with or without food, or as directed by your doctor. HIV is usually treated with a combination of drugs. Always take the prescribed drugs as directed by your doctor. Store this medication in a cool and dry place. This drug controls the reproduction of HIV, but it does not cure it. Take the drugs if your doctor recommends you take it.
